Seafair Sunday will be the final day of 4 days of Seafair 2017. October 15 will be dedicated as a Day of Healing for Rockport-Fulton. The Seafair grounds will take on a spiritual aspect with a day of Christian Music with hopes of comforting those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Hours for Sunday will be 11am - 6pm. Tickets have been reduced to $5. Attendees 18 and under will receive free admission. The event will be located at the Aransas County Navigation District Fairgrounds, next to Rockport Beach.
Seafair Sunday begins at 11am with Alethia, followed by Chapman Brothers at 12:30pm. At 2:30 pm, Verse 34 will take the stage. The headliner act for Seafair Sunday will be music from the multi-GRAMMY® nominated band Sanctus Real and they are excited to announce they are back with a new single. Titled “Safe In My Father’s Arms,” the song is already the most downloaded and streamed tune according to PlayMPE one week after its' release. “Safe In My Father’s Arms” is a reminder of how good it feels to know that we are all truly safe in God’s arms. “It was during a particular season of walking through so many unknowns when this song was written,” shares guitarist Chris Rohman. “We had to take a moment and look back so we could see the path God had brought us down. Once we did that, we wanted to write a song that expressed the joy we felt knowing God had been with us through it all and what it feels like to be held so lovingly by Him.” Sanctus Real will be performing until the closing time on Sunday at 6pm.
Seafair itself will take on a different vibe than in the past. There will be a 10pm closing time on Friday and Saturday nights. The carnival will be moved to a different location further down into the beach park. Friday night headliner will be country music legend, Joe Diffie, with chart-toppers like "Pickup Man," "Third Rock From the Sun," and "John Deere Green," and 13 albums and over 20 Top 10 singles to his credit, Joe has little to prove at this point in his career. Included in the Saturday line-up are two Corpus Christi acts, Latina Soul singer, Hilda Lamas, and Jake Ward, who recently hit #1 on the Texas Charts with his single “Restless” Headliner for Saturday will be Hudson Moore, a native Texan, born in Fort Worth. Moore’s talent and buoyant personality have earned him a broad and enthusiastic fan base. His debut album, “Fireworks,” spawned the hit single of the same title, “Fireworks,” which soared to No. 1 on the Texas Music chart and held that spot for two weeks.
