HummerBird Celebration Update
Message From Bob at the Chamber
Hello HummerBird Friends:
We just completed one of our planning meetings and are here to tell you the 31st annual HummerBird Celebration will be a great event!
We are so excited here at the Chamber of Commerce. It's been eleven months since Hurricane Harvey decided to wreak havoc on our community. The first hurricane to hit here since Celia in 1970. The one good thing about all the destruction is the hotels, condos, cottages and rental units, for the most part, have experienced some sort of remodeling effort. So more than likely the room that you stay in for the 30th anniversary will be a newly remodeled room. We currently have over 950 rooms available and it's getting better every day. There are more than 50 restaurants and fast food establishments open. We hope to have the entire event schedule posted by the 1st of May so make sure you keep us on your calendar to book your event tickets in that timeframe. We need your support more than ever.
You can also call or send me an e-mail and I will be happy to send you a packet of information about the Rockport-Fulton area. Please include your mailing address and I will get the information to you as soon as possible.
Since this will be our 31st Celebration, we have a great event planned with several new exciting things being featured: a presentation of the filming of a documentary while enjoying Texas BBQ, field trips with expert guide Kevin McGowan PhD of Cornell University, an expanded Hummer Breakfast, a new talk at Goose Island State Park on Sunday morning, and so much more.
If you want to come a little earlier in the week, enjoy some of our new venues of Aransas Pathways here. It features new birding sites, history sites, kayak launch areas, and hiking and biking trails.
We're looking forward to seeing you soon! Like us on Facebook at RockportFultonHummerbirdCelebration and #HummerBird2019
