What is Texas Music Friendly Community mean?
The Texas Music Friendly Community designation is part of the Music Friendly Texas Program, established by the Texas Music Office (TMO) in 2016. This program aims to support music industry development across Texas by providing a network for certified communities to foster local music growth.
To become a Music Friendly Community, cities must follow specific steps, including hosting workshops, establishing a music office, and maintaining a local music industry directory. The program has certified over 70 communities, including major cities like Austin, San Antonio, and Fort Worth, and aims to enhance the local economy through music tourism and community engagement.
