About Seafair ...

Celebrating its 45th anniversary this year!

We invite you to the 45th Annual Rockport-Fulton Seafair October 10-13 for food, fun and a celebration by the sea. Country artist Tracy Byrd, known for top hits such as "Lifestyles of the Not so Rich and Famous, The First Step, The Keeper of the Stars and smash, chart-topping hit "Watermelon Crawl" is the feature for Friday night Oct. 11. The premier tribute to the music of Queen will rock you on Saturday night Oct. 12. This band, out of San Antonio, has vocals ready to perform and blow you away. Ricky Naranjo y Los Gamblers will have listeners tapping their feet and drawn to the dance floor Sunday afternoon Oct. 13. Their music is filled with emotion, and powerful lyrics that relate to everyday people.
From delicious gumbo to the hilarious live crab races, this family-oriented event has become a favorite for all of South Texas.  New this year will be an expanded boat and outdoor show across the front entrance of the festival. You will be informed of the latest and greatest at their seated area near the boats with regularly scheduled presentations to educate and inform you.
It’s a banner year for the Arts and Crafts and Seafair Market Vendors as the Committee added an additional tent that sold out a couple of weeks ago. Seafair will be showcasing more than 120 vendors!
A new fun activity is the Kayak Race Competition in Little Bay right after the ever-popular parade through downtown Rockport. You just stop by the water activities area, complete an application and hop in your kayak or a kayak provided for you. Race to the finish line and stand by for the prize announcements that afternoon. While you wait, watch the crazy cardboard boat races and the hilarious Crab Races on a wooden race track!
We know... you wanted more gumbo! The Committee has approved the preparation of 225 gallons of gumbo which serves 7,200 cups of gumbo. So plan to visit the Gumbo Alley. That is not to mention the Gumbo Competition on Saturday. Feel free to taste the competition gumbo as well.
You will enjoy watching the Seafair Train as it trails around the festival grounds on Saturday near the Children’s Tent area. Stroll through the Car Show on Sunday. Bring your favorite dessert or salsa for a quick contest at the Big Tent stage around 1 p.m. on Sunday. Contestants will need to arrive by 12:30 p.m.
All new this year is Thursday as the official and fun “Battle of the Bands” when adults get in for only $5 and Aransas County students get in free. Any band from anywhere can participate.
