Thinking Spring Break? Rockport Beach is quiet, less crowded, and clean. Certified and designated a “Blue Wave Beach” since 2000

Rockport-Fulton, Texas (February 8, 2010) –  For the past ten years, The Rockport Beach has been annually certified and designated a “Blue Wave Beach” by the Clean Beaches Council of Washington, D.C.

As a Blue Wave beach destination, Rockport and Fulton represent the complete eco-coastal experience and actively promotes and embraces principles to keep its beaches clean and managed responsibly, as well as focus on the safety of visitors and the protection of the environment.

If you are looking for a peaceful, less crowded beach for Spring Break, Rockport Beach Park is the place to be.  This mile-long sand beach is litter free, handicap accessible with public restroom and shower facilities.

Other park amenities include beach front thatch covered umbrellas, children  playgrounds, volleyball courts and covered picnic cabanas with grill.  "Parents feel safe on our beaches," says Diane Probst, president/CEO of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.   "Even if younger children wander out in the water, it's extremely shallow for at least a quarter-mile. The beach is on Aransas Bay so there are gentle waves rather than the crashing ones that come from the Gulf of Mexico."

Amenities for parents are ideal for summer time fun. The beach is situated on a peninsula one mile long. Both the north and south fishing piers provide good fishing. The boat launches and fish cleaning tables are located conveniently in the center of the beach area. A walking trail is a favorite of locals as they soak up the breezes and salt air to relax. The Saltwater Lagoon is a great alternative for those looking for deeper water to swim and relax in. This is an experience one will not find in the big city.

To add to the family fun there are many other amenities around Rockport and Fulton. The Community Aquatic Park and Skate Park offer fun activities for the person looking for a change from the beach. The Community Aquatic Park is home to the Children’s Pool. This is a 2,600 sq. ft. with zero-depth entry into an exciting world of sprays, fountains and slides. The Skate Park is a modular “street-style” layout with a variety of stairs jumps ramps, rails and pyramids.
