Website: http://www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/texas/aransas/index.html 115,000 acre Refuge Complex provides habitat for migratory birds, endangered species, including wintering grounds for endangered whooping cranes and other Texas wildlife. Over 400 species of birds and 1,000 species of plants have been recorded. The Refuge offers a Visitor Center, 16-mile driving Tour Loop, 7 walking trails, viewing decks, boardwalk and observation tower. Interpretive Van Tours are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from January - April. Monthly Lecture Series Call for information and reservations. Nominal entrance fee.
